Dancing on the tables!

The wedding breakfast is a great opportunity for the bride and groom to have a short, poignant moment with each of their guests sat around their tables for the meal. It is also a perfect opportunity to get the wedding party started! There are many forms of entertainment that can elevate your wedding breakfast from standard meal time to pre-party pick-me-up. One such form is the Strolling/Roaming band. If you haven't heard this term before, think mariachi band without the sombreros. The general idea is for the musicians to get up close and personal with your guests at their dinner table, disrupt the meal and get everyone up on their feet, on their chairs, swinging their napkins in the air. This often works best as a surprise for the guests as it isn't yet a very common form of entertainment in the UK. That moment of wondering what is going on, to realising the party has begun is a fantastic moment to witness. 

Acoustic Or Amplified

Depending on the size of your venue, your Strolling/Roaming band may choose to perform fully acoustic, which does add to the charm of the whole idea, or they may have to use some amplification. Either way the band will make their way round the room, playing upbeat tunes as they go, doing their best to bring the party to your unsuspecting guests. Most Strolling/Roaming bands will have a dedicated, tried-and-tested setlist that they know works for these occasions, but have a chat with whomever you choose to see if it is possible to tailor the set to suit your tastes. 

One last thing to note: make sure to tell your venue you have booked entertainment for during the dinner as it may slightly (will definitely) disrupt the service!
