Your Music Marmalade profile contains 8 main sections. These are;

Gallery

Your gallery is undoubtably the most important part of your profile. It’s where prospective clients get their first impression of what you offer by viewing your photos and watching your showcase videos. First impressions count so if you want to take plenty of bookings, upload high resolution photos and invest in a high quality showcase video. For the showcase video(s), it’s a good idea to choose a selection of popular tunes that represent your style well. You could choose to play songs in full or you may decide to arrange the songs in to shorter versions to pack more highlights into a shorter space of time. It’s simple to add photos and videos to your profile. Videos are hosted by YouTube so first upload them there and then you can provide Music Marmalade with a link either when you’re onboarding or editing your artist profile. Photos are also nice and easy to upload directly from your desktop or phone. Make sure only to upload your core service videos here, You’ll get the chance to upload add-on related content in the add-ons section.

Type & Categories

This section helps potential clients find what they’re looking for quickly and easily. When you’re onboarding or editing your profile you can select up to two types for your profile and as many categories as you like. Type refers to the more general style of your act such as Wedding & function band, DJ, or Strings & Classical. Categories refer to more specific elements of your service such as genres, group size and typical performance times. By selecting the types and categories that best reflect your service offering, you’ll allow clients to accurately narrow down their search using filters to discover you.

Timings

The timings section of your profile gives clients a brief overview of your standard timings and lets them know what to expect when they book you. We have chosen to include performance duration, suggested start time, estimated set-up duration, and your standard break duration. To keep things simple, other than suggested start time, the timings you give here form part of the contract between yourself and the client unless otherwise agreed between yourself and the client within the Music Marmalade chat function. When the client is building their quote and requesting to book, they will have the option to select a performance start time to suit them from your availability window. To make sure you only receive booking requests for times that suit you, you can set your standard availability when onboarding or editing your profile.

Setlist

Fill this section out with a full list of all the pieces/songs you have in your repertoire. If you have your setlist typed out elsewhere, you can save time by using copy & paste. You could choose to list your pieces/songs as you perform it or group them into genres.

Build A Quote

Build a quote allows prospective clients to input a few key details about their event and instantly receive an accurate quote. The quote takes into account your standard performance fee, any add-ons, extra members, travel expenses, and layover fees (a surcharge for travelling a considerable distance or staying overnight). To provide accurate quotes we’ll ask you for your pricing during onboarding. The prices you provide should be inclusive of VAT if you’re VAT registered and please bare in mind that Music Marmalade charges it’s commission based on the full price quoted. You can update your pricing at anytime within edit profile.

Description

This is where you really get to sell yourself and get your personality across but also be informative. You could talk a little about the history of your act, where you’ve performed, or why you do what you do. The aim of your profile is to give clients the confidence to book you immediately so think of the questions you’re often asked and answer them here. Although timings and add-ons(if applicable) are shown in the profile, you could explain how you usually split your performance between 2 sets or you could mention how the client could fill their entire event with music using your add-on offerings.

Add-ons

Add-ons provide musicians with a way to enhance their appeal and meet the needs of individual clients by offering additional services alongside their core service. You can utilise the Add-ons feature to offer different band configurations, extra performances, personalised music arrangements, or extended performances. There are countless possibilities for what you can offer as an add-on and they can be a great way for you to increase your earnings per gig. If you offer multiple add-ons, you can organise them into four separate categories, making it easy for clients to plan their events and avoid logistical issues. Clients can select one add-on per category, allowing them a maximum of four add-ons in total. You can set up your add-ons at anytime by editing your profile. We’ll ask you to provide a video or photo and select an icon to represent your add-on within your profile. All add-ons are visible on your artist profile, making it easy for prospective clients to add the service to their quote.

FAQ

FAQ is a dedicated section in your profile where you can address the questions you frequently receive from prospective clients. Think about the common enquiries you get and provide clear, concise answers to as many of them as possible. If a prospective client can't find the answer they're looking for, they have the option to send you a message directly.

Reviews

We’ll send a review request to your client a few days after your performance. Reputation is paramount to success so turn up on time, dress sharp, communicate clearly, act professionally at all times, and put on a show!
