We’re a 17-piece powerhouse of horns, rhythm, vocals and heart - just a bunch of mates who met at university and never stopped playing together. What started as jam sessions in student halls quickly turned into a full-blown musical family, bound by a shared love of performing and a mission to bring people together through music. Our sound is big, bold, and brassy. We cover a wide range of genres - swing and jazz, to pop, blues and beyond—each track reimagined in our unique, high-energy style. Whether we're performing the iconic hits of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Michael Bublé or delivering specially crafted renditions of Bruno Mars, Queen and ABBA we bring it to life with rich harmonies, tight grooves, and an infectious sense of joy. At the core of it all is friendship. We laugh together, rehearse hard, and hit every stage with the same enthusiasm we had at our first gig. Our music is for anyone who wants to dance, sing along, or just feel something real. So, if you’re looking for something a little different and a whole lot of fun - we’re your band.

The Not Quite Big Band's FAQ
1. How much space does the band require?
We’re flexible and can adapt to different venues, but we’re most comfortable with a space of around 8x3 meters or more. Let us know what you have, and we’ll make it work!
2. How much power do you require
We bring all our own PAT-tested extension leads and equipment, but we do require a minimum of two plug-in points—ideally one on each side of the stage. We’ll also need to speak with the venue in advance to confirm power availability and setup.
3. DO we have a say in the set list?
Absolutely! We work closely with all our clients to tailor the set list to their tastes and preferences, ensuring a personal and memorable experience for you and your guests. We will provide a repertoire list where you can choose songs you want played (or don't want played) and we will get to work on building the perfect soundtrack to your big day.

"Wow wow wow! These guys were absolutely incredible! Words can’t describe it! We hired the NQBB for our wedding back in October and we think it was the best wedding decision we made! Will was super through all stages of the process, from enquiries before booking, through to set list selections and sorting out logistics, he was so friendly, with excellent communication and always had time to answer our queries. On the day itself they arrived in plenty of time to set up and you could tell the guests were getting excited for what was to come. It was what we were most looking forward to about the day and it more than exceeded our expectations! What was wonderful was seeing everyone dancing - all the generations.
